a social enterprise team

Every organisastion needs a good team of people who are skilled in their chosen field to enable an enterprise to succeed. But with social enterprise you have quite a diverse skills base to cover, so how do we prioritse. Well it's different for each social enterprise but here at nourish we have gone with recruiting a staff team who have expertise in the enterprise side of things. This means that we have recruited chefs for the catering project and horticulturists for the community farm. We then focus our training and professional development on the skills required to work with our client groups. The benefit of this is that we dont have to worry too much about how to make the business side of things balance as these skills are inherant in the staff team, gained over years of training and experience. So we can spend lots more time and effort working on the social aspects of the enterprise.

the work ethic Team
of course there is another side to our team and that is, of course the service users who join us on our journey. They come to us for various reasons, some to learn skills for employment and other for independent living. either way each person is treated as a valuable member of the team and is positively encouraged and empowered to take and active role in the running of the enterprise.
