a social enterprise in transition
| we're changing? | |
|
Not so long ago Care Co-ops Trading - the Social Enterprise bit of Care Co-ops Community Services. was set up to offer vocational training in catering and hospitality to adults with learning disabilities and adults with mental health issues. In that time we have done quite well. Most of you will know us for the 20/20 Cafe based at the East Brighton Community Mental Health Centre on Elm Grove. It's now been nearly eight years, and after consulting with lots of customers, service users and other stakeholders we feel it's time for a well earned makeover, and we hope you will like the new look. This website and the name Nourish represents our first steps towards our development and change and represents a few more to come yet. |
|
| what was wrong with the other name? | |
| Nothing really - its a good and well known name with a great reputation. However it did not fully represent the developing nature of the social enerprise and its need to exist in a competitive market. We aim for our service users to to learn on an equal playing field therefore our customers should judge our products and services for the quality, innovation, price and standards we offer, not because we help the disadvantaged.
However you will notice below that nourish is only our trading name, we have not fully departed from our founding organisation as they are a key partner in helping us deliver a more rounded service to our service users. |
